It’s Been A Minute

Life got a bit busy and something had to give. I figured the social media component was better to take a break from than the actual writing portion of this children’s book endeavor. I can assure you that I am still working and wanted to give you an update of where I am at. 

I wrote the first version of my story, had it edited, and then queried about fifteen agents…no one bit. Not to worry, this is a process and I am told I will be lucky to find an agent within the first year or two. “Patience is a virtue” is my 2020 mantra.

I revamped the story after waiting several months to hear back from all the agents. It’s funny how I was really happy with the first version and then I edited it and I realized I didn’t actually like that version as much as I thought I had. I about halved the story’s length, added some rhyme, and streamlined the plot…VOILA! (Listed like that it sounds easy breezy, but I promise it was muy tedious)!

I just wrapped up my agent selection for this round of queries and have sent version two out into the world. Here’s to hoping my edits weren’t made in vain. This is a good place to be at the end of the year and we’ll see what 2021 has in store.
