Kid-Sized Prayers
For all the moments in a day that could use the boost that only a prayer can give.
| Most of my ideas come to me as I am working on one thing and then my mind springboards to something else. Here is one such example. I was writing the first study in the “In the Wild” Bible study series and at the end of each lesson, I wrote a prayer. They are short and sweet and to the point because by the time we reach the end of a 45 minute lesson at 5PM on a Tuesday, those little ladies’ minds are drifting straight toward dinner and what show they want to watch. The prayer might be the only thing they walk away with, so it needs to pack some punch! This is when my mind springboarded! Why not make those nuggets of truth and goodness easily accessible for all the moments in a day that could use the boost that only a prayer can give. Let me introduce to you, “Kid-Sized Prayers.” Pint-sized, bite-sized, child-sized and easily accessible for whenever you need them. We all live lives on the go and guaranteed we should all be praying more, especially with our kids! We want to show them that prayer matters, it doesn’t matter how big or small and it doesn’t matter where and how…it just matters. Nervous kid before a sporting event? Stuck in a pick-up line for school? Dance performance on the horizon? You might only have fifteen seconds before a kid jumps out of the car for the next activity, why not make those seconds count. The reasons to turn to prayer in a day’s time never cease, so let our praying never cease, too. |
