The Flip Side Coin

The Flip Side Lesson 3 Activity

George begins to see God’s rules in a completely different way. He realizes they aren’t random rules meant to take away his fun, they’re loving directions from a Father who wants what is best for him. As he learns to Pray. Flip. Go., George finds that every choice has a flip side and God’s way always leads to what’s best. Following God isn’t something we do alone. Because He loved us first, God gives us His Spirit to guide us and help us trust Him one choice at a time.

Boys will be making a kind of keepsake Flip Side Coin. As they decorate their wooden Pray. Flip. Go. coin, encourage them to make extras to give to a friend, sibling, or really anyone who could use a reminder of God’s truth. Each coin can be slipped into a pocket, backpack, or kept on a nightstand as a reminder of the new habit George is learning. Whenever life feels hard or they hear a “no,” they can hold the coin and remember to pray first, flip their perspective, and go God’s way. Just like George discovered, following God isn’t about reacting in the moment, it’s about trusting that God knows what’s best.
