The Other Side Of No Lesson 1 Activity
Chloe’s thoughts felt whirly-swirly. Everywhere she looked, it seemed like there was another rule telling her what she couldn’t do. Instead of seeing God’s loving guidance or anyone’s good intentions, all she could see were the “no’s.” Sometimes our thoughts can feel that way too…confusing, overwhelming, and all mixed together. But when we trust God, He steadies our hearts and helps us see the bigger picture.
Today you’ll begin by drawing whirly-swirly lines all across your canvas to mimic how Chloe is feeling in the story. Then you’ll fill the spaces with different colors to create an abstract painting that may look like a random collection of colors at first, but as you step back, you’ll begin to notice how all the pieces work together to create something beautiful. Just like your painting, God’s plan doesn’t always make sense when we’re looking at one little piece. When we trust Him instead of our whirly-swirly feelings, we begin to see that His ways are always good, even when they start with “no.”
