Being Brave Lesson 2 Activity
As Elle “prepares” for typical daily activities, we get a sneak peek into what is going on in her mind. It comes as no surpirse that we can all relate to some of the worry she feels and some of the thought processes she has. What is she supposed to do with that worry? What are we supposed to do with our worry? Do we put on extra protective gear and carry hand sanitizer everywhere we go? No is the answer, even though that is often what we feel like doing. We want to fix our problems ourselves, but alas, we cannot. Only when we put our full trust in God can we begin to see His promised protection for us.
These paper fortune tellers provide an engaging way to remind ourselves and others what we actually need to protect ourselves. We need to put on the armor of God and we need to do it before we start searching for worldly ways to try and ease our worries. We need all the pieces – shield, helmet, breastplate, sword, shoes, & belt – and we need to practice what it looks like to put those pieces of armor on when worry and the world start to creep in and get the best of us. With these fortune tellers, you choose your armor, choose a number, choose a number again, and then listen and soak in the answer about what the armor represents and how we can use it. God’s armor provides all the protection we need and we need to spend our time practicing how to put it on.
